In his first interview since he was arraigned in Manhattan one week ago, former President Trump had nothing but good things to say about the employees who worked in the courthouse. Trump described the scene inside the courthouse as “incredible” and the people who worked there as very apologetic and “actually crying.”
“It was a sad day in many ways, in many ways, it was a beautiful day,” Trump told Fox News Host Tucker Carlson.
Trump was arraigned on 34 felony charges related to alleged hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels. The Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney Bragg indicted the former president after promising to “get Trump” while running for office. Trump has denied allegations that he had an affair with Daniels in 2006, and falsified business records to keep the payment concealed.
Carlson traveled to Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida to conduct the interview.
“It was a hell of a thing because I did nothing wrong,” Trump said, regarding his arraignment.
Surprisingly, the former president said that the people who worked in the NYC courthouse were “incredible” and treated him kindly.
“When I went to the courthouse, which is also a prison in a sense, they signed me in, and I’ll tell you—people were crying. People that work there, professionally work there that have no problems putting in murderers and they see everybody. It’s a tough, tough place and they were crying, they were actually crying,” Trump told Carlson. They said, ‘I’m sorry.’ They’d say ‘2024 sir, 2024’ and tears were pouring down.”
“I’ve never seen anything like it,” Trump added.
He said the police and people who work at the courthouse were “phenomenal.”
“They’re unbelievable people,” he said. “Many of them were in tears or close to it. Many apologized, [saying] ‘I’m sorry sir.'”
“In one sense, it was beautiful—because they get it,” Trump said.
“In another sense, it was nasty. I went to the Wharton School of Finance, they didn’t teach me about that,” he joked. “We didn’t have a class on arraignment.”
Trump said the Biden regime “is weaponizing our Justice System,” and “there’s never been anything like it.”
The former president also told Carlson he doesn’t think Biden will make it to a 2024 presidential campaign. Joe Biden has not yet officially announced a 2024 run, but seemed to suggest he would during Monday’s Easter Egg Roll at the White House.
“It’s almost inappropriate for me to say it… there’s something wrong… I don’t think he can,” Trump said of Biden, who will be 82 years-old in 2024, and is widely suspected to be suffering from dementia.
“I saw his answer on television about whether or not he was going to run, to a very nice guy named Al Roker,” Trump said.
“[Biden gave] a long answer about the eggs and this and that—look, I don’t think he can,” he said.
Biden had said: “Well, I’ll either, I’ll eith—I’ll either be rolling egg or, uh, being the—the guh—you know, the guy who’s pushing them out … I plan on running, Al, but we’re not prepared to announce it yet.”
Later, Trump noted that if Biden doesn’t run in 2024, the top contender for the Democrat nomination will be “Kamala,” which he said would be a big problem for Democrats because “I don’t think she’s performed well.” Trump added that there is also “a very ambitious guy in California”—meaning Governor Gavin Newsom—who has “done a terrible job in his state.” The former president said Newsom was always “very nice” to him, “so I couldn’t hit him.”
Trump told Carlson that no matter how bad things get for him, he will never drop out.
“It’s not my thing, I would never do it,” he said.
