Government Jobs For Officials Who LIED To America

Several of the 51 signatories to the letter in October of 2020 declaring the New York Post’s story about Hunter Biden’s laptop to be “Russian disinformation” have since been given government jobs.

According to Just The News, three of the most prominent signers – former CIA Director John Brennan, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, and former CIA Senior Operations Officer Paul Kolbe – have been given positions with the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) newest initiative, the “Homeland Intelligence Experts Group” (HIEG). The HIEG, announced on Tuesday by DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, is set to include “private sector experts who will provide their unique perspectives on the federal government’s intelligence enterprise to DHS’s [Intelligence and Analysis] and the Office of the Counterterrorism Coordinator.”

In addition to the new DHS position, all three men have been in other high-paying jobs since the 2020 election: Brennan has been a distinguished fellow at Fordham University School of Law and University of Texas at Austin, while Clapper has been a CNN contributor, and Kolbe became a senior fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.

The controversial letter was organized by then-campaign adviser Antony Blinken, who recruited former acting CIA Director Michael Morrell to use his past intelligence community connections to gather a group of officials to sign off on the letter. Following Morrell’s revelations of Blinken’s involvement, many have considered Blinken’s subsequent appointment as Secretary of State to be his reward for making the letter happen.

The letter was released in response to the Post story about Hunter’s laptop, abandoned at a computer repair shop and containing overwhelming evidence of Hunter’s corruption as well as troublesome personal behavior involving drugs and prostitutes. Although the media quickly agreed with the letter’s assessment that it was “Russian disinformation,” the laptop and its contents have since been verified as authentic.

In response to the news of the three signatories’ newest positions, Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.) said in an interview that “[e]very last one of those individuals should lose their security clearance.”

“None of them should ever be hired, work for, or paid by the United States government,” Johnson continued. “And what this indicates is literally how deep and corrupt the deep state truly is. They are so brazen that they have no shame.”
