Finally, the inevitable happened—the social media moment we’ve all been waiting for. Donald Trump’s Twitter account was officially reinstated, and, of course, the Left is losing its collective mind.
Since the moment he took over Twitter, CEO Elon Musk has been making a range of changes to the social media platform. From firing useless Twitter employees and making verification accessible to the masses (for a mere $7.99 a month) to actually holding leftist celebrities—or however one would classify Kathy Griffin—accountable for violating the site’s terms and conditions, it is abundantly clear that Musk’s Twitter is significantly different than it was under previous leadership.
And the woke Left can’t stand it.
The highly anticipated reinstatement of Trump’s account might be Musk’s most notable change thus far and probably the most controversial. After running a poll to ask users whether Trump’s account should be reinstated, Elon Musk took the 51.8 percent majority’s opinion to heart and brought back the account, which had been suspended since January 8, 2021. To make matters even better, he did so on the eve of Joe Biden’s birthday.
The decision sparked an immediate backlash from leftist politicians, media personalities, corporations, and other social justice keyboard warriors who took to the platform that they claim to hate to react to the reinstatement.
Famed former bartender and current dancing socialist Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-N.Y.) criticized the decision, claiming, “last time he was here, this platform was used to incite an insurrection, multiple people died, the Vice President of the United States was nearly assassinated, and hundreds were injured . . .”
The ratio in response was glorious to behold, including a tweet from Trump’s oldest son, Donald Trump, Jr., who quoted Ocasio-Cortez whining with screenshots of Trump’s Twitter response on January 6: “That’s a lie and you know it Sandy. You’re just used to being able to do that on this platform because prior to about a week ago everyone at corporate would run cover for your BS,” he wrote along with the screenshots where Trump called for “no violence,” peace, and “support [for] Capitol Police and Law Enforcement.”
Some responses were even more hysterical, notably the tweet from leftist blowhard “journalist” David Leavitt, who raised the fearmongering question: “How many Americans will die because @elonmusk brought @realDonaldTrump back onto Twitter?”
CBS News used the social media platform to announce it couldn’t even handle being on Twitter anymore, stating they would “pause” all activity on the site as it continues to “monitor the platform.” This marked the first time that many Twitter users, including myself, became aware that CBS News even had a Twitter account—and that CBS still claims to be in the news business.
I called out the bias of the platform on my own Twitter account:

Musk replied to my tweet, poking even more fun at CBS News and other “unbiased” mainstream media networks:

It wasn’t long before CBS ran back to the platform, claiming they were “monitoring the situation.” No one is quite sure what they are “monitoring” at this point—although it should be the mental health of the staff who made the decision to whine on Twitter.
The best part of this entire scenario, of course, is that Trump hasn’t even tweeted a single letter on his account yet—and it appears he has no plans to do so anytime soon. This is no surprise considering that his own social media platform, Truth Social, relies on his exclusive presence on the app, which would be lost if he were to participate on a more mainstream forum like Twitter.
Every day I wake up and feel grateful I am not one of these lunatics so heavily burdered by Trump Derangement Syndrome that they can’t even function normally in society. Conservatives have shockingly not only tried to coexist with liberals on social media, but we’ve done so while they actively demonized, doxxed, and deplatformed us. Even without a fraction of the level of hatred that conservatives have experienced, the Left can’t handle it.
Conservatives are not demanding special treatment. Conservatives are not even demanding the Left get a taste of its own medicine with the same discrimination its hall monitors dished out for years without any checks and balances. The mere fact that Musk is making changes to foster a level playing field on the platform is enough to have them up in arms.
The Left relies on lies and misinformation to succeed. They rely on full media control. That control is finally breaking down in real-time on Twitter.
