New York in full attack against Trump family, sues for $250 million

Letitia James, the attorney general for New York, has for years been promising her political cronies in the Democrat party that she's going after President Trump, his family, and his businesses over their many actions while running his companies in the state.

Now she's filed a civil complaint demanding $250 million from the defendants.

The move was met with an immediate response from the Trumps that it was just "another Witch Hunt."

Be aware of James' offensive language in the following clip:

The Washington Examiner revealed Trump said, "Another Witch Hunt by a racist Attorney General, Letitia James, who failed in her run for Governor, getting almost zero support from the public, and now is doing poorly against Law & Order A.G. candidate, highly respected Michael Henry."

Significantly, while James is accusing the Trumps and the organizations of a multitude of nefarious activities, she's apparently been unable to build the evidence for any criminal charge whatsoever.

In civil proceedings, the burden of proof is, according to one commentator, 50% "plus one feather," while in a criminal case the charges must be proven "beyond a reasonable doubt."

Trump long has responded to James' repeated attacks on him by accusing her of political motivations.

James contends she wants Trump banned from buying New York property for five years and Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump to be barred from serving as "an officer or director in any corporation" in New York.

Trump said, "I never thought this case would be brought — until I saw her really bad poll numbers. She is a fraud who campaigned on a 'get Trump' platform, despite the fact that the city is one of the crime and murder disasters of the world under her watch. She is a failed A.G. whose lack of talent in the fight against crime is causing record numbers of people and companies to flee New York. Bye, bye!"

Eric Trump said, "Not a political 'witch hunt?!' What a joke…,"

He continued, "Letitia James is not working for the Attorney Generals' office — she is working for the DNC … 49 days before her election (the newest poll has her tied with a Republican in New York State)."

"It is abundantly clear that the Attorney General’s Office has exceeded its statutory authority by prying into transactions where absolutely no wrongdoing has taken place," Trump lawyer Alina Habba said in a statement given to the Washington Examiner. "We are confident that our judicial system will not stand for this unchecked abuse of authority, and we look forward to defending our client."

The Daily Caller News Foundation said James in claiming Trump inflated his net worth by billions of dollars "to cheat."

She claimed the alleged conduct violated both state and federal criminal law, but no criminal counts were filed.

Fox News explained James claimed the investigation only began after former Trump attorney Michael Cohen told Congress Trump made misrepresentations of financial statements.

Cohen is known for, among other wild accusations, claiming that Trump was using top secret documents to "extort America."

James also immediately raised the possibility of a "settlement," saying her office doors are open.
