Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) is mailing campaign brochures to Wyoming Democrats with instructions on how to switch parties to be able to voter for her in the state’s closed August 16 Republican primary. Cheney is getting crushed in recent polls by her Trump endorsed opponent Harriet Hageman with Hageman at 56 percent and Cheney at 28 or 26 percent support.
Cheney campaign flyers showed up in the mailboxes of Wyoming Democrats starting last week. One county party was not amused, “Cheney sent a mailer out blatantly asking folks to switch parties for the primary. Whatever you think about the 1/6 committee, remember THEY made the party what it is. THEY made Trump possible. We have 3 very different Dems vying for the House. Vote in OUR primary, not theirs.”

Cheney’s campaign website has instructions on how to party switch to vote for her:
HOW DO I CHANGE MY PARTY AFFILIATION TO REGISTER AS A REPUBLICAN SO I CAN VOTE FOR LIZ? To change your party affiliation or to declare a new affiliation, complete the Wyoming Voter Registration Application & Change Form and submit it to your county clerk’s office not later than 14 days before the primary election. You may also change your party affiliation at your polling place on the day of the primary or general election, or when requesting an absentee ballot.
The New York Times’ Reid Epstein reported on Cheney’s change of mind on asking for help from Democrat party switchers.
“In February, Cheney told me she would not make a concerted effort to reach out to Democrats asking them to change parties. “That is not something that I have contemplated, that I have organized or that I will organize,” she said in a Cheyenne interview.”

A year ago fed-up House Republicans removed Cheney from the number three post in leadership, House Conference Chair, and replaced her with Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY).
Cheney, one of ten Republicans in the House for Trump’s impeachment in 2021, has a starring role in Nancy Pelosi’s January 6th Committee witch hunt.
The Wyoming Republican Party voted to censure Cheney and called on her to resign after she voted to impeach Trump.
Hageman spoke at a campaign rally in Casper last month headlined by President Trump:
