Chip Roy announced today that he’ll run against Stefanik for the Republican Conference Chair:

But just a short while ago Trump came out against Roy, and somewhat hard:
Can’t imagine Republican House Members would go with Chip Roy—he has not done a great job, and will probably be successfully primaried in his own district. I support Elise, by far, over Chip!
Chip Roy isn’t a perfect Republican, but he’s obviously a better choice than Elise. The problem is he’s up against establishment Republicans, who hand picked Elise to be Cheney’s successor, and there’s little to no chance he’ll beat her – especially with Trump’s full-throated endorsement of her and condemnation of Roy.
So don’t get your hopes up that he’s going to come out on top. I’d much prefer him, but I don’t believe for a moment he’ll win enough Republicans over.
